Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University is an important center for education, cultural and scientific growth in Georgia. The university was established as Batumi Pedgogical Institute.
It has long history associated with the Georgian Community, towards development and growth of education system in Adjara. An educational reform has been initiated in the country. As a result, the courses were divided into two parts and university was established. The University has nine different branches of study, from education, business to healthcare and natural science.

The university was founded in the year 1945. It is one of the oldest study institutes in the country. The university received the accreditation in the year 2011. The university is located in a seaside city, named Batumi. It is located in the capital of Adjara, which is one of the autonomous republics, located in the Southwestern part of Gerogia. It is a primary commercial center in Georgia.
Courses
The university offer 6 years MBBS course inclusive of one year rotational internship program. In addition there are specialty courses in post graduate medicine.
Admission Procedure
Admission procedure is very simple, yet the minimum requirements for admission is not as easy as found in other colleges in study abroad destinations.
Application deadline is 10th July every year. The university intakes students only once a year, in the month of October. Minimum marks of 60% with science as the stream of study is important.
