CA CPT 2018

CA CPT 2018 – Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the exam conducting authority released the online notification of CA CPT December 2018 session exam on July 25, 2018. ICAI will conduct CA CPT 2018 examination for December session on December 16, 2018 (Sunday), in two sessions- one morning from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, and another afternoon session from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The application form of CA CPT 2018 will begin on October 4, 2018, in online mode. Candidates will able to fill and submit CA CPT 2018 application form till October 25, 2018, without late fee, and up to November 1, 2018, with late fee of INR 600/-. The link to register for CA CPT 2018 and fill the application form of CA CPT 2018 will be provided below as soon as the CA CPT application forms are opened by the ICAI. Candidates will have to pay CA CPT application fee for filling the application form of CA Foundation 2018 on the basis of the place of exam centre chosen by them- INR 1,000/- for an exam centre in India, INR 1,700/- for exam centre in Kathmandu and US$ 300/- for an overseas CA CPT exam centre. The admit card of CA CPT 2018 will be tentatively released about 15 days before the date of the exam. Before the release of CA CPT admit card, candidates will also be given two CA CPT application correction windows, first for free of cost and the second window will be chargeable, in the online mode to facilitate students to make corrections to the mistakes made in filling CA CPT application form 2018 like in the fields of choice of exam centre or medium of language, et.al. Chartered Accountant – Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is conducted for candidates who wish to pursue a career in Chartered Accountancy. CA CPT 2018 December session under the old scheme will be held on December 16, 2018. Only those candidates who are registered with ICAI for Common Proficiency Course (CPC) of Chartered Accountancy will be eligible to give CA CPT exam held in December 2018 session. Important Note: CA CPT exam will NOT be conducted after June 2019 session. CA CPT 2019 June session will be the last session of CPT exam. It has been decided in lieu of the introduction of new CA entry level exam, i.e. CA Foundation 2018, under the revised scheme. After June 2019, CA Foundation will become the sole CA entry-level qualification examination. Until this period, both CA CPT and CA Foundation Examinations will be conducted by ICAI.

CA CPT is an entry-level qualification test held twice a year- once in June and once in December under the old scheme. As per the official notification, CA CPT will cease to be conducted beyond June 2019 session. Candidates who will qualify CPT exam will be enrolled to IPCC (Intermediate Professional Competence Course) which would train them for the next level of Chartered Accountancy course.

CA CPT Eligibility Criteria 2018

 

Candidates who plan to appear for CA CPT 2018 in December 2018 session exam, they should have registered with ICAI in CPC course. Only registered candidates are eligible to apply for CA CPT 2018 December session. Following are the eligibility criteria of CA CPT 2018.

• Candidates must have passed their 10th and 12th level qualifying examination from a recognised board of education or equivalent examination,
• Candidates must have registered with ICAI for CPC course before June 30, 2017, to be eligible for appearing in CPT exam.
• Candidates who have completed bachelor or masters degree in commerce with at least 55% marks are exempted from appearing in CA CPT 2018,
• Candidates holding bachelor or masters degree in a stream other than commerce must have obtained at least 60% marks in aggregate of all subjects are also exempted from appearing in the entry level test.

 

CA CPT Application Form 2018

 

ICAI will open the CA CPT 2018 application form for December session exam from October 4, 2018. Candidates will be able to fill the CA Foundation application form 2018 till October 25, 2018, without late fee, and till November 1, 2018, with late fee of INR 600/-. The application fee of CA CPT 2018 will be hinged on the place of the exam centre chosen by an aspirant. The aspirants will be able to remit the application fee for CA CPT 2018 application form online using (VISA/Master) Debit Card or Credit Card. The application fee of CA CPT 2018 December session will likely be similar to previous sessions as mentioned below. ICAI will also open two CA CPT application correction windows to facilitate students to make changes to their applications in case of a mistake committed by the student.

CA CPT Admit Card 2018

 

Candidates who register and apply for CA CPT December 2018 examination will be issued the admit card of CA CPT 2018 in online mode. The admit card of CA CPT 2018 will likely be released in the first week of December 2018. Candidates will be able to obtain their CA CPT admit card 2018 by logging in their accounts through their registered id and password, through the link given above. CA CPT 2018 admit card will mention details about the candidate including name, roll number, photograph and signature, exam centre, etc. It will also contain other exam related important instructions. Candidates will be required to take a printout of CA CPT admit card 2018 and carry it with them to their allotted exam centre. In case of any discrepancy regarding admit card, candidates are advised to contact ICAI Helpline desk (given at the end of this article).

 

CA CPT Exam Pattern 2018

 

CA CPT 2018 will be conducted on December 16 2018, in two shifts, i.e. morning shift from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM and evening shift from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. CA CPT exam will comprise of objective type questions of 200 marks. Candidates must note that there is a negative marking of  0.25 or one-fourth for every wrong answer. ICAI will conduct CA CPT 2018 in as many as 201 exam centres across 196 test cities in India and five abroad. Candidates can select the exam centre of their choice for appearing in CA CPT 2018, while filling their CA CPT applications. Candidates will also be able to change their choice of exam centre for CA CPT 2018 December examination when the application correction window becomes available. CA CPT Sample Papers 2018

 

ICAI has also provided sample papers of CA CPT 2018 examination to help candidates prepare well for the exam. CA CPT Syllabus 2018

CA CPT Answer Key 2018

 

ICAI does not release official answer key for CA CPT 2018. However, careers360 will provide CA CPT 2018 answer keys released by various coaching Institutes. The CA CPT answer key 2018 will be helpful for candidates to cross-verify their responses as marked by them in the examination. Moreover, ICAI also provides candidates with the facility of getting their answer sheet re-evaluated after CA CPT result announcement. CA CPT 2018 answer key will help candidates verify their answer sheets already prior to the declaration of result. Candidates will need to pay some fees if they get their answer sheets revalued.

 

CA CPT Cutoff 2018

 

Candidates who appear for CA CPT 2018 will need to score minimum qualifying marks as mentioned by the exam conducting authority in order to proceed to next level of CA course. CA CPT 2018 cutoff mentions the minimum marks a candidate requires in each section and overall in order to be shortlisted for IPCC course. As per the cutoff of CA CPT 2018, candidates will need to obtain 30% marks in each section and overall 50% marks in order to qualify CA CPT 2018 exam.

CA CPT Result 2018

 

ICAI will announce the result of CA CPT 2018 December session exam in the third week of January 2019 tentatively. The result will be declared in online mode. Candidates who appear for CA CPT 2018 December examination will be able to check their result by logging in through their registered account. Moreover, ICAI will also intimate candidates about their qualifying status through registered email id and phone number. Candidates who wish to obtain their CA CPT 2018 result through email and SMS will be able to submit their request for receiving of the result via these modes once the facility becomes available. Candidates will later be able to download their CA CPT result card, rank card and certificate through ICAI registered account.
