Bachelor of Fashion Design: What is it About?

Course Duration:
Bachelor of Fashion Design is a 4-year long course. The course is conducted in semesters, with each semester being 6 months long and covering some of the topics of the entire course period. 8 Semesters would be conducted in the entire course and would include theoretical as well as practical training.

Eligibility for Bachelor of Fashion Design
The basic eligibility to get enrolled in the program is a 10+2 qualification from a recognized educational Board with a minimum aggregate score of 50%. Those with a diploma in the course can also get enrolled in the program. However, a few institutes also conduct their own entrance exams for admission to the course.
Bachelor of Fashion Design: Admission Process
Each premium institute conducts its own entrance examination, which consists mainly of a written or computer-based exam, followed by a round of group discussion. NID conducts DAT which is further divided into prelims and mains.
NIFT conducts CAT, GAT and then finally GD/PI rounds. CAT and GAT judge the prospective candidates in terms of quants, verbal ability, and general knowledge awareness essentially. The GD and PI round solely judge the candidate’s knowledge, body language, and presentation skills and presence of mind.
Students who are yet to appear for their final examination are also eligible to apply.
Distance mode admission
The course is also offered in the distance mode across some institutes and universities in the country. Some of the institutes offering the course through distance learning are Bangalore University, Mahatma Gandhi University, and Dr. C.V. Raman University etc.
Direct Admission
