NEET 2019 (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is going to be conducted in the month of February 2019 and May 2019 by National Testing Agency (NTA). The exaact schedule is given in the table mentioned below. Latest-As per the course, NEET may not be organized twice in 2019. Also, the discussion is going on to conduct NEET in pen-paper mode at least in 2019. However, it is not finalized yet officially. 

NEET 2019 application form will be available online from 1st October 2018. NTA will conduct the exam in online mode only. 

The National Testing Agency wil organize the  NEET 2019 two times a year in the month of February and May 2019. The authority will make no changes in the exam syllabus. The information has been confirmed by HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar.

NEET Exam 2019Preparing for NEET 2019 with Board Exams

Who Will Conduct the Exam NTA or CBSE?

It is confirmed that a National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the NEET exam in 2019. The online application form will be accessible from 1st October 2018.

NEET UG 2019 Examination Pattern

No. of Questions: There will be total 180 questions of MCQ type.

Test duration: The duration of the examination will be 3 hours.

Subject Involved: The question paper will have questions from these subjects- Chemistry, Physics, Botany & Zoology.

Language of the question paper: Candidates will get question paper in English, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Oriya, Assamese, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada. If opted language is English, the test booklet will only be available in English. For other languages, it will be bilingual (English+ opted language). The paper in language other than English and Hindi will only be provided if the test centre lies in the state where the language is spoken primarily.

Positive Marking: 4 marks will be provided to candidates for every correct attempt.

Negative marking in NEET 2019: There will be a penalty of 1 mark for each wrong answer.

NEET Application Form 2019

NEET application form 2019 will be released online at the official website of NTA i.e. http://www.nta.ac.in/Home. Meanwhile, please go through the instructions that needed to be followed at the time applying online for the entrance exam.

What are the preparations required before you apply online for NEET UG 2019?

The key information that need to be kept ready include your name, your father and mother name with correct spellings, Registration number issued by CBSE/Aadhaar Enrolment number/Aadhaar number/Passport number/Ration card number/bank account number/Other valid Govt. identity card number, address, date of birth, Email ID, mobile number etc. Other documents that should be kept ready are the latest photograph with size 10 Kb to 100 Kb and signature with size 3 Kb to 20 Kb, both in JPG format.

You need to decide the mode of the payment of fee and accordingly arrange the required credential such as card number, expiry date, pin, net banking username and password etc.

How to fill and submit the NEET 2019 application form?

Go to the official web portal of CBSE i.e. cbseneet.nic.in. You should download the information brochure and replica of NEET UG 2019 application form before you apply online.

Click the link “Apply Online” and open the same.

Fill up the first part of the application form by entering the personal details (Nationality, Category, Date of Birth), qualification details (Year of Passing, Percentage of marks, Type of Institution, Education Board), communication details and choice for exam center. The email id, mobile number and mailing address must be entered correct and complete as they can be used for future communication. The candidate must note down your provisional registration number. The Provisional Registration Number will also be sent on the registered E-mail Id and mobile phone of the candidate.

Upload the signature and photograph. The photograph should be of passport size and must be taken with a white background. The photograph must be taken after 01.01.2019. The same copy of photograph must be carried at the exam center as it will be collected by the Centre Superintendent. The candidate must mention his/her name, Application Form number, roll number of Examination, on the reverse side of the photograph.

Make the payment of required application fee and take a printout of confirmation page. Please keep a copy of the confirmation page preserve for the future reference. A copy of the confirmation page and self-declaration/undertaking as the case may be, will also be emailed on the registered email id of the candidate.

The incomplete form will be liable for rejection and no request for change in any particulars shall be entertained under any circumstances.

Note: The candidate having problem in filling the online application form can visit any of the Common Services Centres for submission of application form and payment of fee.

Application Fee:

The application fee will be Rs. 1400/- for candidates from unreserved and OBC category are and Rs. 750/- for SC/ST/PH category candidates. The fee payment can be done by Credit Card/Debit Card, Net Banking/UPI or E-wallet of Common Services Centre and other service providers. The application fee will be non-refundable and service/processing charges will be applicable in addition to the application fee.

Eligibility criteria for NEET 2019

The applicants of Indian national/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)/NRIs/PIOs/FNs can appear for the exam.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should pass in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English in the qualifying exam and must score an aggregate of 50% marks (40% for OBC/SC/ST and OBC-PH/SC-PH/ST-PH & 45% for General-PH) in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology. The appearing candidates are also permitted to apply for the exam.

Age Criteria

The minimum age requirement is 17 years as on or before 31st Dec of the year of admission. The upper age limit will be 25 years for General category candidates and 30 years for OBC/SC/ST categories of candidates.

NEET UG 2019 Admit Card

The admit cards of NEET UG 2019 will be available in the website according to the official schedule. The applicants are advised to take the print out of the admit card and affix a postcard size photograph in the space provided. The admit card will have all the important details such as Applicant’s name, roll number, Examination date & duration, Venue etc. Kindly note that admit card will not be sent by post. However, a copy of the admit card in PDF format will be emailed to the candidate on the registered email id.

The candidate should report with downloaded admit card and with proforma which is an attachment of admit card with post card size photograph duly affixed on it, at the allotted examination centre.

NEET 2019 Exam Centres

The NEET UG 2019 will be conducted in various major cities situated across different states of the country. The selection for the desired exam center will be made during filling the application form. In case of unavailability of the selected exam center, a nearby center will be allotted to the candidate. The center allotted will not be changed under any circumstances.

Answer Key

The answer key for NEET UG 2019 will be published after the commencement of exam. The applicants can challenge the published answer key by paying an amount of Rs. 1000/- per question. The amount can be paid via debit card/credit card. This amount is only refundable if the board accepts the challenge made by the candidate.

NEET UG 2019 Result

The examination result of NEET UG 2019 Exam will be published on the CBSE official website after the evaluating of the answer sheet. To check the examination result online, the applicants need to enter their registration number along with roll number. The applicants can download their result from the website for future reference. No provision for re-checking the answer sheet will be provided.

In case of a tie, the following candidates will be preferred while ranking:

  • Candidates obtaining higher marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test
  • Candidates obtaining higher marks in Chemistry in the Test
  • Candidates with less number of attempted wrong answers in all the subjects in the Test
  • Candidates older in age

NEET 2019 Counseling and Admission

The counseling process for successful candidates under 15% All India Quota seats and central institutions will be conducted by MCC (Medical Counseling Committee)/DGHS (Directorate General of Health Services). The notification for the same will be available on the official website of MCC. On the basis of merit list and All India Rank prepared by CBSE, the candidates will be invited for counseling. The counselling for admission in seats under the control of other States/Universities/Institutions will be held according to the notifications issued by the concerned authorities.

In order to be eligible for admission it will be necessary for the candidates to obtain a minimum of marks at certain percentile in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test, depending on their category:
